Our Clinics

We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases and offer a wide variety of medical services.

New Patient Medicals

Unless there is a medical need, only patients over the age of 16 are offered a new patient appointment with a practice nurse.

Pre-Conceptual Counselling

If you are thinking of starting a family and wish to talk to someone about keeping fit and well for baby’s sake, please see your doctor in routine surgery or your health visitor

Family Planning

A full range of family planning services, including emergency contraception, is available. You may ask your doctor or nurse for advice at any surgery.

If you have done a positive pregnancy test you should make an appointment to see the Midwife before you are 10 weeks pregnant.
To see your Midwife you should phone Forth Valley Royal Hospital Maternity Unit. Monday-Friday 8.30-12.00 on 01324 567146 or email [email protected] and ask for a booking appointment with the Midwife.

Well Baby Clinic

The Health Visiting Baby Clinic is held on the 1st Thursday of every month by appointment only. Parents/Carers can access the Health Visitors Monday – Friday. If you would like to speak to one of the Health Visiting team, please phone Susan, Christina or Kirsty on 01786 825358.

Children’s Vaccinations

As of October 2019 all childhood immunisation services for 2 – 5 year olds will be centralised.  The practice will no longer appoint or administer childhood vaccines.

BP Checks

It is recommended that everyone between the ages of 45-75 who do not regularly attend for medical treatment or screening have a BP check every 5 years. For patients over 75 years it is recommended they have a BP check every year. Please ask for a “BP Check” appointment with either of the Healthcare Assistants.

Cervical Smear Tests

We prefer to do these tests ourselves, and they can be carried out by a doctor/nurse of your choice. Please inform the receptionist when you are making your appointment that you will be having a smear test. We follow the local policy of performing smear tests on women aged 25 – 49 every three years and women aged 50 and over every 5 years.  Smears will only be repeated sooner if the cytologist recommends repeating the smear more often, or if you have had a hysterectomy. You will receive an invitation by computer-typed letter
