We wish to inform our patients that the Practice has remained opened since the start of the covid pandemic and continues to do so.  However, due to Government and RCGP guidelines, the doors are closed to allow controlled access for the protection of both patients and staff.

For this reason, patients should only attend the Practice if they have been invited to do so.

As per national guidelines, all requests for appointments are triaged and, if required, patients will be offered either a telephone, video or face-to-face appointment.  Social distancing rules, along with the need to clean rooms between appointments, has impacted on our face-to-face capacity.

During the month of September we provided:

2503 GP/ANP appointments

(This figure is only pre-booked appointments and not additional follow-up telephone calls)

919 Nurse & HCA appointments

265 Medication telephone queries

3340 patients had prescriptions issued

Routine blood tests and cervical smears have resumed and we are working our way through the backlog of chronic disease annual reviews.  However, for the forthcoming months, our priorities will be for the provision of Influenza, pneumococcal and shingles vaccination appointments.

Our GPs are also continuing to provide support to the local Covid Hubs and Assessment Centre.

As the majority of our consultations are currently by telephone, we would ask, where possible, that patients with internet access make a routine appointment request via the econsult facility on our website. Patients will receive a response by the end of the next working day. This helps to free up the telephone lines for outgoing consultations and urgent requests.  We may even be able to respond to your request without the need for an appointment.

We would, however, like to stress that, that patients can still telephone the Practice in the normal way if they are unable to use this service, have experienced any difficulties or have an urgent request.

This year the flu vaccination programme has been organised by NHS Forth Valley.  The Clinics will be held at the Victoria Hall from 2-6 November. All eligible patients will be sent out an appointment.  Patients should expect to receive their letters around 22/23 October.  The letters will provide telephone numbers to enable patients to cancel or rearrange their appointments. Please do not contact the Practice as we do not have access to the appointment booking system.

Housebound patients and their households will be immunised by the district nursing team.

Children’s immunisations will be provided at Dunblane Medical Practice.  Please contact the Practice by telephone to book an appointment if your child is 2-5 not yet at school, 12-17 in an at risk category or is at primary school and has missed their school immunisation.

We appreciate everyone’s support at this difficult time for us all – Stay Safe!
