Information about Appointments

Appointments can be made by phone, in person at reception or via the internet with online booking (if you wish to register for online booking, please speak to a receptionist). You will be offered the earliest appointment available with the provider of your choice or at a time suitable for you when they are available for consultation.

Routine consultations are by appointment only and are generally at 10 minute intervals.If you have 2 or more items to discuss or you feel you have a complex issue please ask the receptionist for a longer time, eg 20 minutes. You may have to wait slightly longer for an extended appointment.

Please make separate appointments for each person who needs a consultation.

Immediately necessary and urgent medical appointments are available for patients with conditions that cannot wait for the next routine appointment. These appointments are only available with the duty doctor/nurse and can only be booked on that day.

If you feel you cannot wait for the next routine appointment please inform the receptionist when making the appointment.

You must be registered with Patient Access before you can book appointments online. If you would like more information about Patient Access registration, please ask at reception .

Home Visits

Home visit requests should, if possible, be made before 10am but please tell the receptionist the nature of your call so that appropriate notes can be laid out for the doctor (call 01786 822595)

A doctor will visit you if he/she agrees it to be necessary. The doctor may decide that your problem could be attended to at the surgery. In this case you will only be seen if you come to the surgery. Doctors do not have to visit at home unless there is a medical need.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit.  There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients in the Health Centre

Training Practice

Medical students from Dundee University Medical School are often attached to the practice for an introduction to general practice as part of their degree course. If at any time you do not wish a medical student to be present during a particular consultation, the doctor will of course respect your wishes.

We also have nursing and health visiting students attached to the community staff within the practice
